Busquet Method – Physiological Chains

Leopold Busquet, a French physiotherapist and osteopath, initially worked with muscle chains before advancing his training in osteopathy. He later developed a method that integrates both disciplines, introducing a unique concept in kinesiology treatment: the Container-Content Relationship.

According to Busquet, the body’s organization adapts to internal and external tensions—whether mechanical, visceral, scarring, emotional, or traumatic. He describes the Container (the body’s shape) as the result of muscular activity aimed at creating comfort and/or alleviating pain and other symptoms.

This method features its own evaluation system, which tracks pathways leading to areas of tension. It assesses how the body organizes itself based on the tension in physiological chains (muscles, nervous tissue, visceral structures, fascia, etc.). Treatment involves relaxation postures that specifically target the chains with the highest tension. These gentle yet precise postures are designed to address the affected tissues effectively.

Sessions are conducted individually, with a recommended frequency of once a week or every two weeks, depending on the case.
